Ashlyns Training Kitchen
Ashlyns Training Kitchen offers a range of courses for everybody from enthusiastic amateurs through to catering staff. The courses cover everything from cookery demonstrations through to Food Safety qualifications. Jeanette Orrey has designed a 2 day foundation course for catering staff that provides informative and practical training to help improve school meals. Jeanette has been working in school kitchens for many years, starting as a kitchen assistant when her own children were small, working her way up to Cook Supervisor, spending fourteen years at St Peters Primary School, East Bridgford. Jeanette is a founder member of Ashlyns and also works for the Soil Association as School Meals Policy Advisor; she is a board member of the School Food Trust and has written the awarding winning book "The Dinner Lady" and "Second Helpings". Simon Owen is a Director of Ashlyns Organics Limited and one of our trainers and has been a chef for many years, he also worked on Jamie's School Dinners where he spent time in Greenwich primary and secondary schools working on school recipes. We hope you will come and join us on one of the courses, we really do understand the issues you face everyday.
